Eugene LeGrande To Perform At BassConnect Africa 2020

Eugene “LeGrande” Akatsa is a born again Christian, serving as a music minister at the Purpose Centre Church under Rev. Julian Kyula in Nairobi Kenya. He is a techpreneur working as the Founder and MD to Akili Mambo which is a Kenyan born corporate development firm that specializes in performance and talent management through bespoke e-learning solutions. Akili Mambo is an innovation based company that has created a niche in making learning available, accessible, affordable to all through cloud solutions and mobile apps. Their mantra being – empowerment with convenience. As a songwriter and producer, he is also stands as the Founder and Music Director at Worship Factory – a gospel musical entity whose vision is to stir a culture of excellence in worship through live music. Their works are widespread as they have released a number of songs; Ushindi, Under My Feet, In His Holy Place, Atawale and shared stages with several international acts like Sinach, Freke Umoh, Mary Mary, Don Moen, Todd Dulaney, Travis Greene and also served as the resident band at the Groove Awards in Kenya for about 4 years. They are also the official band for Mercy Masika, Joyce Omondi, Sheila Juma among other diverse artists. He was also Music Director at Safaricom’s Twaweza Live tour in 2018. Locally, he has been blessed to have been in the musical journey of music ministers as well as directing music at their events; Rose Ohon, Evelyne Wanjiru, Alice Kimanzi, Bethuel Lasoi, Eunice Njeri, Pitson, Njoki Munyi, Jackline Gachiri among many others. Eugene is also one of the Founders and Operations Director at Piano City – a musicians empowerment community that seeks to inspire musicians to achieve their greatest potential. Piano City is actively engaged to their cause by hosting bi-monthly workshops and seminars. Currently Piano City is present in Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa, Nakuru, Meru, Kilifi, Kaimosi, Eldoret. Affecting all major African cities is part of their 5 year strategic plan. End of 2017, Eugene was awarded with the Best Instrumentalist of the year 2017/18 at the Cafe Ngoma Awards. He is passionate about people and believes in his purpose which revolves around empowering others to achieve their greatest potential through enablement in his areas of gifting.
